UK jazz musicians hit Rochester Jazz Festival

Producers ESIP took British talent to the 2008 Rochester International Jazz Festival, New York (RIJF), for two concerts under the banner Made in the UK. These concerts are the pilot for a new international series designed to present the UK’s vibrant jazz sector on the world stage. The first concerts in the new series took place on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 June 2008 at the RIJF, New York and were supported by Arts Council England. Renowned British artists Ian Shaw and Guy Barker presented their new partnership Barker & Shaw Go To The Movies, a highly entertaining romp through their favourite film music. The second concert on 21 June introduced The Union Trio – Orlando Le Fleming on double bass, John Escreet on piano and Chris Higginbottom on drums. Shaw and Barker then joined The Union Trio as special guests.
